Question about my order...

Hi all...quick question. I ordered my car back on March 8...I hadn't heard much from my salesperson since. I happened to be in the area today and dropped into the dealership (I actually live out of state to the dealership that I ordered from)...my salesperson was off.

Long story short...the folks at the dealership agreed to look into my order to get a status update and it turns out my car went into production on 3/17. But there has not been a status update since.

Is there reason for alarm here? The salesperson that was there said it was odd and most cars go through production process in 5 days or so.

If anyone has any ideas of what might be going on please let me know!

Order was a 2017 convertible S.

Thanks all!

The reason why the trip to the dealer has me worried is because their computer had a lot more detailed steps in the process. I forget exactly but it was like "production started, in shop, etc.."

The car had the start production (or whatever the first step is) marked 3/17 and then nothing.

Hopefully it will be built before they go on strike -

The Lounge was horribly out of date when I checked it after my order back in 2016. I was really disappointed with the site. The dealer was able to check on it though, so I don't know what up with that. I ordered mine in March and picked it up in June so timing wise I would not be too concerned.

A watched pot never boils.

I should talk. I ordered a car that was on a ship already, and I'm antsy about it. It's been at the facility near the port a while, but so have its brothers and sisters, apparently.

Update: Dealer let me know the car has shipped! Got on a boat on 4/14 - Dealer couldn't get update on status until yesterday.

Side note...the car is arriving early enough (2 weeks before I move to the area) that I went ahead and asked that they install the JCW pro tuning kit. Good lord, now I'm even more excited!
