Greetings, it's my first post on this site.

I bought a 2013 Mini a couple weeks ago (R56 I believe, i.e. not turbo). Two days after I bought it, the check engine light came on. (So, in fact, I haven't been able to title or register the vehicle as I need to pass emissions first!)

I put my code reader on it and got:

P0442
P0442 p
P2422 p = Evaporative Emissions Control System (EVAP) Vent Valve Stuck Closed

Strangely, I can't find any hits on the web for P2422 for the mini.

I tried clearing the code, both with my reader, and by unplugging the battery for a while, but the CEL is on immediately the next time I start the car, as if it hadn't even been cleared, which makes me think it's not just a little leak somewhere causing the P0442?

On this car, would P2422 refer to the fuel tank vent valve on the right side of the engine? If I take the code literally it is pretty specific, should I just order that vent valve, or is there something else to try first?
