Questions about coding an r56

I know that somewhere in here is/was a giant thread on coding your Mini to "unlock" certain features. I can't find it though.

How involved is this process? I know for the most part the actual coding is changing a text file from AKTIV/NICHT AKTIV or something along those lines. Is there a step by step guide on how to do this and the equipment needed? There are some features that I know exist that I'd like to enable on my 2013 Justa.
