BlueDriver OBD Scanner Not Clearing
BlueDriver OBD Scanner Not Clearing
Hey everyone!
Anyone else using a Bluedriver OBD scanner on their mini? I just got one for my 10' JCW because of a CEL I keep throwing. Wanted to know what the problem was before I took it to the doctor, that worked just fine, but every time I try to clear the code it tells me it can't with the engine running. Turn the engine off though and try again, now it tells me it's no longer connected to a vehicle.
annoying...
Any ideas?

I have a Bluedriver. I had this problem a couple times. If I remember right I had to relaunch App to reconnect to vehicle. It's been a while so I can't say for sure. I will connect mine tomorrow and see what happens.
Hello! (here's to google alerts!)
A number of BMW vehicles require the engine off and ignition in the run position to clear codes (a few also require the driver side door to be open for some reason, but I don't think that applies to Minis).
If you have keyless start, you can start your ignition by pressing the start button without your foot on the brake - you want the dash lit up with the CEL active, cabin fans on, etc before you try to connect. You might also want to unplug your BlueDriver and plug it back in after starting your ignition just to make sure there isn't a sleep mode issue at play (the device uses the voltage increase from the alternator to detect a running engine).
If you have any questions let me know! You can also contact us through the app by going to "more", "contact us", and "email"!

Awesome!
Thanks for the response guys, I will give it a try. I didn't think I would need to be that specific when using it, but no worries.
Thank you for the details "Bluedriver", I will keep you posted and use your suggestion if I have anymore problems. Comforting to know support for you product is so aware.
