Driver side armrest

Anybody ever come across an aftermarket to make the door side arm rest stick into the interior a little more and also higher so you can rest your left elbow so you can grip the wheel when driving. I have rolled some towels up and shoved them into the door storage compartment. The towels are functional but not formal.

I am 6-3 so there is no problem in reaching the steering wheel from the seat on the 1st Gen (that does not have a telescoping steering wheel)

I know I can fab something up more permanent but perhaps somebody has as well.

Do you have the seat all the way down? When I put my seat all the way up. My armrest better on the top of the door card.

I am tall, 6-3, and like to sit with my knees bent so the seat is up high and close to the steering wheel. The Mini is made whereas the "armrest" does not protrude into the space enough nor is it high enough to provide support of the left arm. The window sill is up so high that is not functional for the purpose as well.

I have some ideas in my head on how I fabricate the bracket, but need to see more options for the padded armrest part. Have also thought about making a mold of the curved armrest frame to have something made that basically doubles the pad that is already there.

Perhaps its my age but I would think others here know what I am talking about not have a place to rest your left arm when driving with the wheel in that hand. Sorry I dont drive with hands at 10 and 2 all the time.
