R52/R57 Convertible Rear molding trim
As we all know, the rear top molding trim on the R52(2008) convertibles easily deteriorates.
If you shop around you see that to replace both the left and right sides is going to cost you around $400.00.
After doing a whole bunch of shopping around, I was able to locate the same trim for a R57(2009-2015) at a better price from a used auto place. The rubber looks good. And looking at the online pictures and diagrams from Mini, they almost look the same, downright identical. Are they?
Has anyone tried putting R57 rear molding trim on a R52? Does it work?
Thanks for your anticipated response...

As the rear end of the Gen1 is different then the Gen2 I would therefore assume the rubber trim on the vert is not the same curvature although the rubber/vinyl trim may appear similar.
I have some threads in the R52 section discussing what I did, and it was not shelling out hundreds of dollar for trim.
