Any one know of a mini club in my area
How do I go about finding a mini club in my area? I live in the Hampton roads area of
Virginia. Just north of North Carolina. Portsmouth Virginia Beach Norfolk area to be exact. Would also like to find a reputable shop that could assist in some of the bigger after market mods I would like to do that I just don't have the time to do on my own

Try Atlantic Autowerks in Virginia Beach. We have a list of shops on our website: http://new.minimania.com/article/319...ners_and_Shops
As for clubs, we have a list here: http://new.minimania.com/article/1637/MINI_CAR_CLUBS
Hope this helps!

Hampton Roads Club MINI has stopped using their web page. What activity there is has moved to Facebook where their group name is the same.
I lived in the area back in 2002 - 2007 and I used two places for 'early' MINI work:
http://sportsandimports.net/ ... this guy was THE local BMW guy, he raced 'em. He quickly adapted to MINI ... this was where I got my control arm bushing replaced. He was the first guy I saw do it without dropping the subframe; he had built his own tool for BMW work.
also VERY good http://www.abacusracing.com/ ... I took my classic here. This shop has a STRONG reputation ..... they hosted the area's first "pulley party" and dyno day
