I'm smoking

I poked around on YouTube for a good video on doing a leak down test. I guess I understand it. There was no example for a Mini Cooper. Is there anyone who has done a test that can explain all the steps including getting to TDC for every cylinder? And how about a tester? Who makes a good one? They are usually under $100. Do we need a 14mm extension which I found online for another $70~?

And what about the calc for your %loss of pressure? Is that on the 2nd gauge?

One more thing. Would a compression test after the fact lend any useful information to the results? That's another tool.

I'll be happy to go through this with anyone who really understands the process and the results. I'll even help make a video that succinctly illustrates what it takes to make the test valuable.

DR.
