More comfortable/quiet 17" tires

I have run flats on My F55 has Dunlop runflats on stock 17" wheels. The ride is very harsh and the road noise so bad that I can never hear the engine while driving. I've had enough and considering replacing the runflats with non-runflat comfortable tires. The local Discount Tire folks recommended Yokohama YK740 GTX and Continental ExtremeContact DW. He said Yokohama is slightly better than Continental for comfort/quiet.

Any thoughts on these? Are there better tires for what I'm looking for? This car will never see snow.

The local Discount Tire guy called me with a promotion and I installed the Yokohamas an hour back. Happy to report I can finally hear the engine over the tire/road noise. I would say the road/tire noise has gone down significantly and the ride has improved noticeably.

So, if anybody is on the fence about this, just go ahead and do it.

I love Conti DWS. I've had them on (3) vehicles. They have a softer sidewall to them and ride quiet/comfy. They also last quite awhile, 50k+. I also find their all-around wet/dry traction plenty. The summer DW version is supposedly better traction, but far less treadwear.

The Conti negative is that with the softer sidewall, they squirm more if you are an aggressive driver or like to autocross.

I never had the Yokos.

My current R55 has 17" non-runflat Kumho Ecstas on them. They seem decent so far, and cheaper than the DWS.
