2012 engine shutting down at idle

Not good with only 43k my mini had to be nursed back to dealer,
I really was planning on keeping this car for a while.really like it but
This issue really has me worried, also I just completed the Miniusa survey.
I think I would change my opinion now.i also read the consumer reports
Which showed these cars to be very trouble free. Waiting to hear what's wrong
When I came to a stop today engine wouldn't idle and shut down, I kept having to restart
And keep the rpms up until I got back to dealer.

I just bought a 2009 R55 Clubman that was overheated. It idled rough right after fixing the water pump and thermostat housing. I opened up the oil cap and put it back on wrong but tight and it did not seal.
Started up, then stumbled and stalled several times. After checking everything I could think, ended up removing the cap and aligning properly tightening it properly. Car started and idled fine after that.

I have a Bluetooth OBD and hooked it up. Opened the oil cap. Fuel trim jumped to max, the O2 sensor reading started dropping, then the idle started dropping and stalled. Started again with the cap back on and everything back to normal.

Found the PCV hose sucks massive air to intake from the engine. Any leak like dip stick or oil cap seal will cause engine to run lean and stall with no check engine light or code.

Stall

Two of many possibilities: vacuum leak or clogged fuel filter. Please let us know what you find out.

Drive Hard. Drive Safe. Keep Grinning.

Also, CHECK YOUR OIL LEVEL.

Usually when these cars stall at idle, it's a low oil issue.

Is it an S? Sounds like a High pressure pump to me. If your oil is low maybe a VANOS solenoid.
