Stripes?

I just got my "new to me" MINI. It doesn't have stripes. I've been lurking here a bit and see folks have added stripes. Are they durable? where would you go to have them put on?

I don't want them to peel or look cheesy. My car is garaged at night but in a lot during the day at work. i live in CT where it snows

Stripes are a great addition to a MINI. They also shouldn't be left on very long. I usually leave mine on only a year or a lil more.

I bought mine from a guy, Aesthetic Creations (since out of business), back in 2011, bonnet and boot. The bonnet stripes were replacements and the boot stripes were add on. The bonnet stripes I ordered laminated. They are still spot free after 60K plus miles, most of which are road trip miles. A good coat of carnuba wax helps a lot too.
Check around for anyone providing lamination and cut to fit the MINI bonnet and you can apply them yourself. I'll include a link to a thread with good photos of applying boot stripes, the same process applies to the bonnet.

Here also is a in process picture on my stripes replacement.

Good luck.

You can see the scars on the passenger's side stripe and the replacements still look like the new one being applied.

Do you guys think that you must get boot stripes if you're going to do bonnet stripes?

My recently acquired 2013 MCS was factory optioned with stripes as shown below at $190 MSRP. Color scheme is admittedly conservative (which appeals to me), although black roof/mirrors/stripes would contrast better. Stripes were applied such that no bubbles or wrinkles resulted. To remove them now 3 years and 18k miles later might result in ghosting. They'll stay put. Completing stripes to the boot seems more balanced to my eyes, but all this stuff is subjective anyway...

Boot stripes or any you-ification are entirely up to the owner. I always thought my li'l guy looked bare butt nekked without them.
