All 4 r60 vs. fwd r60

Which one is faster stock or with the same mods. Some say the fwd because the all 4 has a differential that would take away power from the all 4. I say the all4 is faster because it hooks up better. Does anyone know the answer?

I own an ALL 4 JCW with mods and I would think think the FWD is faster in a straight line. The AWD at least in a manual, tends to bog or stutter, even when launched mild. I would still keep the AWD because it handles more neutral, great grip coming out of the corners and I want to take it to the snow. The AWD does have a little extra drivetrain loss, but at highway speeds, the diff stops sending power to the rear and it becomes basically a FWD. Part of the attraction of the CM is that is can still be a fairly light, nimble AWD CUV, that is unique. I'm on stage 2 now and next month will be at stage 4 with the bigger turbo, meth and big valved ported head. 310whp shouldn't an issue. mQubed Motorsport, Manic Tuning Dealer

This makes sense. I see your a manic tuner. I just sent off my ecu for the stage 2 tune on a switch. I hope it's a noticeable difference as I've never tuned an ecu before.

How often does the rear diff / transfer case go out? I'm hearing from a local guy that it's 'often' and costs $4000 to replace?
