satellite signal interruption

I just bought a 2015 Paceman with navigation and satellite radio. Periodically the the center screen reverts to the MINI logo and goes to broadcast radio and kills the nav and satellite radio. Is this normal?, it sure doesn't seem like it should do it with such regularity.

I can't really comment on yours, but when I had it in my '12 it didn't take much to interrupt satellite. High buildings, mountains, etc..

my SiriusXM cuts out every time I go by the airport, I figured out that some of the ground control and approach radars are on a similar frequency.

that doesnt seem right for loss of signal to bump it out of sat mode. do you notice correlation with obstructions?

Yes, it will just stat no SDRAS or loose it from a tall building or large trees.

I would take it to the dealer sounds like a head unit issue.

I notice you mention nav too. GPS uses an entirely different technology from the sat radio, different satellites, frequencies, etc. Highly unlikely they would both go out together unless you go into a tunnel or something.

It sounds to me like you have a hardware problem rather than a signal issue.

but both of these systems use 'line of sight' to talk to the satellite

GPS uses a network of a BUNCH of birds and adapts to how many are in view

SAT radio uses "one" bird and can easily be blocked . . .
