2012 Mini Base

Anything special I should be looking for when going over a 2012 Mini Justa (manual 6 speed with 58k miles)?

Side question: Do the 8 spoke wheels from a Gen 1 fit on a Gen 2? Would it look stupid?

Mine is similar. But I have the earlier N12 engine.
I had a water pump thermostat issue at about 60K. But I think that has been pretty well resolved with your newer engine model. While they were doing that repair I had the serpentine belt and spark plugs changed.
The 2012 Justa manual should be pretty reliable. But have it checked out by a mechanic familiar with MINI’s. Brake wear, timing chain slack, shocks and struts, clutch play, tire wear, battery test. Basically the same things you should have checked out on any used car purchase.

Gen 1 uses 12mm wheel studs. Gen 2 uses 14mm studs. You would either need adapters or bore out the Gen 1 wheels for the larger studs.

Yes , those will fit stock brakes. Unless you have The JCW factory BBK (red ). Or some other larger brake kit.

Think they would work seen conical spoke ( very close in design on a R58 and looks good.

So those wheels will fit Gen 1 and Gen 2 Mini's? Same bolt pattern? Same mm studs?

Gen 1 and Gen 2 MINI same bolt patter and same wheel bolt length ( Gen 2 without factory JCW BBK, unless you use ECS wheels spacers then anything will fit with the 4x100 pattern genuine MINI ).

For gen 2 not for Countryman or Paceman, they take 5x120 wheels. 5 lug.

I would assume the rear spoiler is a bolt on mod for non S cars?

No drill , just bolts. Sorry , missed that , just a couple bolts is what I meant. When you take the rear inside hatch trim plastic off you will see what I mean

If the 8-spoke wheels are genuine Mini ones, they will work on a Gen 2 car just fine - the holes in Gen 1 wheels are big enough to take the Gen 2 wheel bolts.

I have a 2012 six speed with just over 60,000 miles...so very similar to the one you're looking at. At 60K the computer told mine it needed a check-up and they found that the water/coolant pump was leaking (I'd never had a problem or seen anything in my garage). That's the only problem I've had in 3.5 years, and the only thing that came up in the 60 k inspection.

I have a 2013 JCW rear spoiler and mounting roof cap that I'll trade for a roof cap for a JUSTA (no holes) . It's midnite black in "as new" condition. PM me if you're interested.

Oil pump solenoid leaks, thermostat problems. Those are pretty much the only real troubles on my 2012 Justa. So I recommend checking for those. The oil pump solenoid has been replaced three times so far, if I recall correctly.
