I'd just give them a call...
The computer stuff typically works great but nothing is perfect...not sure cause I have always had a decent trade as a down payment....
Just did my paperwork for my 3rd loan in maybe 15 years for a USAA car loan. (Gonna be a non-mini, as a gen1 owner the gen3 are not doing it for me) ...about 5 minutes...great rate with the USAA car buying service/true car if your dealer plays.....transaction at the dealer has always been fast, easy and trouble free....heck when I did a mortgage with them, then a refi, the closings were about 15 minutes, no stress...
One recent change I see..."gap coverage" was once free...now it a tiny extra fee...think it was like $2 per month...

Usaa

If you can't work it out with them try the Pentagon Credit UNION. I have used both and they have a car buying service too.

Well i gave up on USAA for this purpose. Got my son qualiflfied under MINI finance at 2.9%. With approval for the value of the car, the trade-in neg equity and 6yrs ext maintenance plan. We are happy with this. Looking forward to him driving off in his new R58👍

I think they wanted you to put 20% down... Who the heck finances 100%?

IMO, if you have negative equity in a car you did something really wrong...

Sound s like they got him a pretty high rate...
USAA had a 1.75% for 60-72 months if using the truecar buying service, 1.99% for not.....less for shorter terns...actually got the dealer to MATCH the rate so I could get cash back AND keep my rate AND not wait 24 hrs for the loan to be funded....
Think a 2.9% is OK...but shows the risk level with going 100%+ on a loan....
