BBC: Bring Back Clarkson

The petition hit 1 Mil signatures, and a dude delivered the first 1 Mil sigs to BBC in a tank:
http://www.cnn.com/2015/03/20/world/...son/index.html

I can't wait what they will do with the second million signatures batch.
Here is the petition:

I hope they can at least air the rest of the season, if it really is over with. I know the studio parts haven't been taped, but I was very excited to see the upcoming test of the new WRX STi.

Punching a producer is one thing, but the other "controversies" are pretty thin. "We think he mumbled something that might be racist," and "Argentina was offended by a license plate coincidence." don't seem like hanging offences.

It sounds like Jeremy Clarkson had an on-going dispute with this producer and it finally reached its boiling point. If Clarkson has a problem with the producer, the producer has GOT to go, no questions asked. Producer is replaceable, but you lose the talent, you lose the show. Of course on the other hand Clarkson cannot just go around getting drunk and punching people, especially one of the producers. BBC needs to make him responsible for his actions and try their best to stop this from happening in the future.

In the end, I think both parties will reconcile because there is just way too much to lose.

I like Clarkson and the show certainly won't be the same without him. I don't know how his differences with the producer escalated to a punch in the nose but one of the producer's jobs is to keep the "talent" happy. BBC has now backed itself into a corner so it's going to take some creative PR get Clarkson back on the show. Why not just bring Clarkson over here and replace one of the dweebs (not Tanner) on the US version.

Top Gear WON'T be the same without him.... Poor Hamster, no one to pick on him with Clarkson gone.....

Goodbye and good riddance

Clarkson is an arrogant ****** and Top Gear became completely stale a long time ago. The show is overdue for a complete refit - new format, new presenters, new approach. The people who support him are supporting a buffoon who yelled a bunch of old hate speech at his producer for not having a nice warm supper ready for him, then smacked him in the mush. Quite why he wasn't instantly dismissed is beyond me and I'm glad the Beeb has finally ditched the old f*cker.

Clarkson can be funny sometimes but he does give the impression that he would be a jerk in real life and this most recent spat somewhat confirms that. Life's short for jerks.

not knowing the whole story ... usually a heartfelt apology has to happen and everything will be forgotten regardless on who's misconduct. but from a business standpoint, is JC still bankable? can he still draw the ratings? heck, BBC can bring in another car guy for all I care... with May and Hammond promotes a balance in JC and without him antagonizing the two it will be kinda lame. it's all an act...

Not that a couple million Americans signing a petition will sway the beeb, but I really think JC made the show hilarious. He was a bit prickly, ornery, and perhaps occasionally he might have drank too much - but he had some mad ideas for the show and it won't be as interesting without him.

million dollar question is... did the producer deserved to be punched? not knowing the tell tale of the facts it's hard to judge his conduct. problem lies that it was executed with and in public. i understand that there is a level of conduct in a workplace but who knows this producer might be an industrial strength d'bag?!? so who's to blame? just speculating...

plus, everyone always has d'bag in his or her workplace...

So you're presuming that the well known ******* Clarkson was the innocent party here? Having called the producer a "lazy Irish ****"?

Fire the guy that fired Clarkson when they hire him back and tell him if he gets more petitions than Clarkson then they will hire him back for making a stupid mistake.

no, not at all... I'd like to give him the benefit of every doubt as of right now because I do not know the facts yet. calling someone a lazy... is just background noise to me - there's gotta be more to it that warranted a punch. so let's see how this unfolds.

Top Gear?

Follow the money.
Clarkson's salary was a 10th of what it would have been in the US.

Not the least bit fair or reasonable to compare Charlie Sheen, a man with serious drug issues to Clarkson. Sheen is in a league all his own due to drugs.

Sorry, but how many of us would keep our jobs after punching a coworker. Love the show, but he's a dink.

Many of us would keep our job if we made the company ( especially stock appreciation) a lot of money

Top Gear producer punched by Jeremy Clarkson in steak 'fracas' tells police he does NOT want to press charges - as show's famous TV studio is dismantled

  • BBC started packing up the set in Surrey on the day Clarkson was fired
  • Oisin Tymon told police to leave star alone and wants to 'get back to work'
  • Unlikely that the millionaire star will face arrest and court over punch-up
  • ITV and Netflix said to be in pole position to sign the sacked presenter

Wow that's really sad and unfortunate. I see no more point to BBC America anymore.

Another network will pick him up if he chooses to continue but I believe a pay penalty would have been a better punishment.
