I have had two Minis in the past - an 09 hardtop and a 2012 Coupe. I had to sell both and I have now acquired a 2007 Hardtop (bought from the original owner 58k miles automatic LOTS OF LIFE LEFT YAY!).

They only gave me one key fob. I'm extremely nervous about only having one key. Is it absolutely necessary to purchase a new key from the dealer or can I purchase a used one and reprogram, etc.?

How do I tell what kind of engine I have?

I have the phone symbol on the radio and steering wheel yet the manual says nothing about Bluetooth. Does this mean I do NOT have Bluetooth? If so, is it possible to get Bluetooth?

Anything inherent I should know about this year and model? Any weird quirks I should expect or look for?

Rebecca, welcome back.
From your description, it sounds like you bought yourself a base 2nd generation R56 Cooper (aka Justa).

If you need to order a second key, you have to go through the dealer to have one coded just for your car.

It's a Peugeot Prince 1.6L N12 straight-4 engine.

Phone button was installed on all MINI steering wheels, whether or not the car had Bluetooth option ordered.

MINI does sell a BT retrofit kit, but all the parts, taken together, are not cheap:

Justa's are fairly bullet proof, but do require the usual preventative maintenance. If you are not comfortable DIY-ing on the car, find a trusted independent mechanic who will maintain it for you.
