Wanted to share some info on my friends f56 race team. Please follow and like them on fb at LAP motor sports too.
They have 3 new f56 S cars they will be running in the IMSA Continental tire challenge series. This series will be racing all across the country and I believe most if not all will be televised but if you get the chance I highly reccomend checking them out in person as this is a very exciting series and most tracks allow you to get into the pits and meet the people and check out the cars right up close. Be fun to watch the guys whipping on some miatas and civics !!
I will post some pics but don't want to reveal much other info as not sure what all they want out there and if you do have questions feel free to ask them as they're super friendly and love MINIs . In fact the team owner used to race classic mini's back in his home country with his father when he was younger - on a dirt road course !!!
Very exciting that they're taking such a new platform vehicle racing , as most of you know there's not a lot of aftermarket support out for the new MINI yet.

looks interesting. I like what they did with the strut towers looks like the typical weak link from previous Mini's.

 

Liked them on fb. Looks like they are pretty serious and running Sebring with 2 cars possibly. Would be great to see them getting lots of factory support.

I can't tell you how excited I am to hear this!!! I got into the conti series back when I got my first MINI (2011) so I could watch the RSR team race their MINIs. I still go to the Daytona race every year and I'm always bummed that the MINIs are (we're) no longer in the series. I can tell you that I already will be a die hard fan.

Are you sure they will be at Sebring? If so I might try to go, it's been on my bucket list the last few years.

Can't wait to see them take the track!

 

Unsure about Sebring, just saw a post about taking two cars there. I haven't seen any confirmation

If they are just putting the shocks in now, they got a ways to go in putting the cars together to make it to Sebring...

Will they be running Bosch motorsport ECU's? yes shock towers with super large openings hate the way caber adjustments get all jammed up. So much roll-cage I might get Ideas. Ive never had a 4 cylinder with the double balance shafts how many rpms are they good for assuming you have the cylinder head set up right. Hmmm will the drive train fit in r56's

Yup - they ran two cars and had another in the paddock space and were working on it as well. Cars look good! I think typical new-to-the-track issue popped up and relegated then a bit down the order. Not unexpected I'd say....

Right now it looks like they will be there on July 25th

Euler - It is a little early to plan on, but I expect that I will be going and I may be able to talk S-Driver into going too. Possibly a 3rd MINI person. Are you thinking of going?
