Exhaust help!!!

I drive a 2012 base model Mini Cooper and I want to straight pipe it... What size should I do? Can it hurt the motor? And what kinda performance will I gain/lose?

It is likely that you'll actually lose some torque if you put a larger straight pipe on the car. If you're doing it for sound, and performance be damned, you can get away with a 2.25" pipe (mandrel bent). That'll be able to flow stock mini HP without problem. If you are talking about a cat-back pipe, you won't hurt the engine: just your ear drums and possibly your good reputation.

Thank you I was trying to find one that produces a good nice sound... Lol I don't mind it being loud as long as it's not like ticket loud but I don't have a s so it is single exit and all the exhaust I find to buy are dual exit and really expensive and I know the straight pipe isn't that expensive and I've read about the losing some torque I hope it's not much and so you think 2.25 would be good? Cause I want somethig that is definately different than stock exhaust and produces a good sound note

Yeah, I don't think there's much out there for your car. You certainly can have something built that'll fit, not be too loud and not void your warranty (even a straight pipe shouldn't void your warranty).
