Need Body Repair in San Diego

I have (had) a mint '06 JCW MINI with only 28k original miles on it. I'm a fanatic about the car. Anyway, I got rear ended this morning at a stop light by a young woman who was obviously on her phone texting. Her small SUV went right over the rear bumper and crushed the rear hatch. Fenders are fine but damage to the base of the cage frame that forms the rear hatch is significant. Bumper will also need to be replaced. I don't know any good body shops in San Diego as I haven't lived here that long. Can anyone give me a steer to a great shop? Insurance will allow me to take it to any place I want.

I've used Chapparone and All-American (not for my Mini) and found them both to be competent and professional. They're both in Kearny Mesa. I'd go back to either; maybe give the nod to Chapparone although AA may be better at dealing with insurance companies and have rental cars on-site.

Although I can't personally vouch for them, you might want to check out Darby's Paint & Auto body (http://www.darbysauto.com). The guy I use for paintless dent removal recommended these guys to my neighbor a couple weeks ago.

No clue, but want to vent my continued frustration at texting while driving cars. My wife has been nailed twice, neither driver admitted to texting but it was obvious that they were. One said they had an itch on their arm, the other had a watch problem - right!

Sounds like you weren't hurt which is good!

I've used All-American before. They treated me well. Would recommend.
