My paranoia makes me a terrible parallel parker. If I don't care, I can swing any car right in.

Love the car!

Because I'm still a 12-year-old-boy:

You look further away than the legally required 18" (distance between wheels and curb). I feel your pain/paranoia though. I have expensive 17" rims. I do find it very difficult to judge the distance to the curb in the Mini. I always end up further away than I guessed, so that's a good thing. I would try to get closer though.

I'd be way more concerned about being clipped by idiot drivers. I can control how close to the curb I park, I can't control everyone else on the road. I hug the hell out of the curbs when parallel parking.

I was amazed when my son got his license and they don't even test Parallel parking here in Oregon. Is that a new thing or are we just behind the times? Nice car even if you park like . . .

That's a shame.

Nothing pisses a guy off more than curbing a wheel. Well maybe the guy who takes the side of your MINI off. Maybe you could get some M7 faux carbon-fiber curb feelers. Nice looking MINI by the way.

Those rubbers wont do anything to protect against an encounter with a curb.
They may be OK for looks/bling, though.
