Has anyone had this problem? I was driving, nothing seemed wrong I didn't hear any bumps or anything... But my engine light started flashing (it's already on. I'm having horrible luck) so I pulled over and looked... My oil cap was completely gone without a trace and oil had spewed everywhere. My dad got a new cap for it and cleaned it up, but does this even happen? What would cause this? Any help or insight of any kind would be greatly appreciated! :-)

What year mini? Gen1 or gen2?
I'm betting $$ it was not screwed on right...if you look at the new one(if an oem), about the onlybway to have it fall off is if was broken or not put on right....

It's a 2008, the odd part was nobody touched the cap in a while. I was thinking maybe the seal broke or something, was just wondering if it was a common occurrence or only something that would happen to me.Originally Posted by ZippyNH

There's positive and negative vacuum pressure, kind of like a push and pull force. There's only one reason why I could think it would pop off like that, your engine has indigestion. Originally Posted by KaptainKrista

I'm sorry I couldn't help myself, kidding. Anyway think of this as a sign and have a good look at your engine looking for anything out of the ordinary.
