Back in the MINI family

Hi all. I had a 2011 MCS from 2011-2012 and traded it in for a 335i (a car I had always wanted). A trade I've since regretted. Well I'm happy to say that as of yesterday I'm back in the MINI family! I picked a 2013 MCS Bayswater edition in Kite Blue. It's gorgeous and I'm so excited to be driving a MINI again.

I'm looking forward to being active on these forums again too (another thing I missed).

Here's a couple pictures:

Nice looking and even the roof matches the rest of the Mini!

Usually the majority of MCS's have a black (awesome) or white (yuck!) roof color. When I first saw a Bayswater Edition Kite Blue it caught my eye, never seen that color blue before in my life. I like that it's blue and is high contrast, most blue color cars are light, medium and dark but neither of these look like they have any contrast to them. You thinking about getting a tune? What do you want to mod if at all?

Glad to have you back on NAM!

Yeah, the Kite Blue really drew me to this one.

First I'm thinking small. I want to get some stripes (it's stripe free right now). Just trying to decide if I want to go with bonnet stripes or stripes down the center from front to back.

After that I'd love to get the JCW Strut Brace followed by a Helix intercooler. I had both on my last MINI and liked what they brought to the car.

Can't wait till the holidays are over. Then I should I have some money to get this stuff done!

Thanks for welcoming me back

You know for $700 you're just short a little on getting a Aquamist HFS-4 W/M Injection System that will outperform any intercooler by many times over, it will keep your cylinder temps cool.

It was a reliability nightmare. Items that I had to replace in the two years I had it:

-Evaporator
-Charge Pipe
-Injection Coils
-Fuel Injectors
-Washer Fluid Pump
-Cup Holder (Worst cup holder design ever btw)

Not to mention I had like four flat tires, which are not a reliability thing but it just seemed like anything that could go wrong did with this car.

Other than those issues though it drove great

Luckily it was a CPO, so I just had to pay the $50 deductible for each repair, but it was still extremely annoying to be in the shop all of the time. The CPO was going to run out in September and I sure wasn't going to keep it past that.

Last year my sister had one and left her stranded 5 different times, ghosts in the machines. BMW cars can have issues with their speedometers, pixel screens, and instrument clusters. I should know because I had my LCD screen missing pixels or faded. I love my Mini though it's almost worth the trouble! Don't want to get to far off topic.

If left unrepaired, a malfunctioning instrument cluster can create unsafe driving conditions.

Welcome back! Kite Blue really pops, great color.

Sorry to hear about your woes with the 335i... it's a car I'd love to own, but your experience seems to be par for the course. Too costly for this guy! Hopefully the MINI treats you right!

I'm hoping the MINI treats me good too If you ever do get a 335i, make sure it has a warranty!
