So last sunday one of my running tail lights (the lights that come on when you turn the headlights on) went out on the right side. So we took it out and examined the bulb and the bulbs were fine but the light still wouldnt come on. Then we examined the other side and everything was fine over there. After that the running lights came on for a split second then when they were put back they went out.

The next day after another examination, both running lights went out. The headlights, fog lights, turn signals, and brake lights still work, and even the fuses are all good.

What is wrong with my tail lights and how do I fix it?

 

Sounds like a short in the ground wire. After you pull the lights out again wiggle it around while it's still plugged in and on and see if it goes on and off.
