Me too on that exact schedule except I am 62.

But, that schedule really only makes me feel good and gives me an excuse to check things. I re-torque the plugs. Check all fluids and rotate the tires. Clean the windows and generally get rid of garbage.

Considering that Artoo burns 1 qt every 1000 miles and has been doing that for the last 100,000 I think that I could probably go longer but, it gives me an excuse to be out in the driveway and frankly “it can’t hurt”.

After seeing the mileage most are changing the oil the first time, I decided to go yesterday and get pepper's changed. Hard to believe but the dealer didn't have any oil filters for the 2014 models yet. :( The service manager also made it clear that I would have to pay for this change because it's out of cycle and not covered by the 3yr maintenance coverage that came with the car.
