Loose door sills

I have an 08 cabrio. My door sills are coming up. I would like to pull them the rest of the way off, before they get all jacked up. What is the procedure, and what do I use to re glue them? And with what, etc?

To pull them off, just slowly and carefully, maybe use a small screw driver or knife to get at any excess glue, but be careful not to bend or scratch them. Any mounting should work, 3M double sided mounting tape or super glue may do the trick.

There is no reasonable way to remove them with out bending. And if you use something sharp the risk is damaging more costly paint finish of the sill itself.

Use a hair dryer to heat area working on while wearing mechanic's gloves. Could use a flat plastic trim tool as an aid. ( Not the rubber ones ) Then Goo Gone or Goof Off to remove adhesive residue.

Fishing line

Try fishing line to remove the sill trim without damaging the trim or the door.

Then heat and a plastic putty knife or a chemical remover for any extra adhesive that might remain.

Double stick tap to reattach, I would not use super glue. At some point they will need to be removed and super glue could prevent that.

That sounds like a plan, what do they use at the factory?
Some sort of glue?
