2008 Mini Mileage

Wondering how many miles I can expect to get before repair costs rise and reliability falls. Have about 90k miles on manual transmission regular hardtop model. Had stalling problem (manifold issue?) Repaired some time ago. Runs ok now. Bought 3 yrs ago with 37k miles. Have done oil changes (sometimes unexplainably low level), but have not repl brakes or anything else except whatever done to fix stalling problem.

How many miles on your 2008? If you no longer have it, when did you give it up and why? Any problems or advice?

Thanks

i'm approaching 68,000 Miles on my Automatic 08 Justa. Have fixed a Vanos solenoid, valve cover gasket, crankshaft seal, lower control arm bushings. (All covered under my 3rd party extended warranty, Which is still good through oct 2015 or 80k.) Running fine right now as far i can tell. I still love it!

I have 104000 miles on my 2008 Non-S. I have only good news to report. Going strong with no issues of any kind!

Ivan, thanks and congrats on that great report! That is encouraging. Have researched online just bracing myself. Mini dlr about 1.5 hrs away, not much choice here at all. Ford dlr has new Focus about same price as my used Mini 3 yrs ago. Maybe it's silly to some, but I still wasn't enticed enough to drive 5 min to do a test drive.

I am a Chevy person. Buying this Mini was a very large shift to what I have driven in the past. Fact is I love this car more than any other cars I have owned, and that being said, I have owned my other cars for 25 years, 20 years, and 18 years for the 3 other cars that I will never part with. I completely expect to get 200,000 more miles on this car. I expect to have this for many years to come.

also look at http://www.minirepairshops.com/ see if there's a non-dealer near you for if things do go awry.

My 2008 6 speed has 85k and I have had no significant issues. Vanos, water pump, rear bushings and that's about it.
