Mini Roadster manual shift

Hello all, just picked up a new roadster yesterday and wondered if anyone knew if this is normal.....the shift **** revolves only in second gear. I n all other positions it does not rotate. Anyone else experience this?

It should not do that as far as I know. I have the same **** on my R56 and it has always been solid.

Strange, mine DEFINITELY doesn't do that. Is it just the **** revolving on the gearstick, or is the whole stick turning?

Hmm I would go get that looked at. The possibility of it happening again are high. It is not safe and I am pretty sure you car is still under warranty. It might be a defective shifter assebly.
