The blackout project
The blackout project
Hi there fellow NAMers,
After some research I found that I have 2 option: 1- to plastic dip my chrome parts or 2- buy the trim black plastic parts. Oh well, I found third option black chrome ( maybe some of you found it too) for about $23 for the kit and parts prep cleaner.

Right now, I'm waiting to apply the clear so in the mean time I'm wright this thread.
1- buy the kit and buy cleaner
2- I recommend the REMOVAL of your parts ( if you don't have experience doing that, search the internet, plenty videos)
3- clean your parts with the spray cleaner and wipe them off. I recommend using gloves.
4- follow the instruction and step written on the box. If you have car painting experience this should a breeze.
Caution: do all the above in a Well Ventilated Area, unless if you want to have extra fun ;-) but not recommend.
I'll post the results later but until than, be safe and Happy Motoring.

It went pretty smooth no problem, 2-3 light coats then a 4th heavier one should do. Then use the whole clear can( step 2, the kit is a two part) and apply as many coats you want, I applied 4. As far as durability, it will probably cheap as every car paint will do...otherwise the result is really good.
