Mini auxilary guage kit
There are many choices.
1.) For actual mechanical/electrical gauges check out:
Cravenspeed (nice OEM matching gauges)
Defi
Many others
2.) Then you can go the ODBII route where it reads the currently installed sensors:
Cravenspeed nGauge
Ultragauge
Scangauge
P3car
3.) Smart phone route reading the OBDII
iPhone paired with DashCommand App and a WIFI OBDII reader
Android phone paired with Torque App and a WIFI or Bluetooth OBDII reader
Currently I use the iPhone/DashCommand or Laptop/ScanXL Pro for occasional data logging. I'm thinking of purchasing the new P3Car OBDII gauge for everyday use.

i run mechanical boost gauge by prosport, as well as scangauge2 for obd2 reading.
the scangauge2 doubles as an engine code scanner/engine light clearer, along with some other functions.
unfortunately in those features, oil temp, and oil pressure are not included, which i would really like to have.
i can not comment on other products because i dont have experience with them. as far as what i do have, the prosport is a very nice gauge with some cool features, and ive had no trouble with the scangauge2.
also depends on your model. i have an 03 cooper s. not everything is available to me that is out there for newer models.

I installed the Craven/Marshall gauges, love the result. See here for install details: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...r-dummies.html, also do some searches as there are a lot of old threads on various installs. The Craven kit is top quality.
I also use an OBD2<->Bluetooth adapter and the Torque app on my Android phone. This was only about $25 total and very flexible, also portable so I have used it on all of my cars. It is so cheap that I don't know why you wouldn't get it. The other cool thing about the smart phone route is apps like RaceChrono, you can datalog all your laps then overlay it on GoPro video with RaceRender.
I find that Torque and Race Chrono are great for focused, intensive use for car diagnostics or datalogging and analysis for track days, but I don't use them every day. The Craven/Marshall gauges are great for everyday, but not for the track -too much going on to pay attention to anything more than the tach.
If I were doing it over again I'd get the Craven nGauge for general purpose gauges because of the simple install. As an engineer, I'm really impressed with the job they did on the nGauge, both functionally and aesthetically. Then for datalogging or diagnostics I'd unplug it and swap with the OBD2<->BT adapter and Torque or Race Chrono.

And it is not plug and play, in fact the instructions for the wiring is wrong for installation in 2013 cars. Unless they fixed which I doubt.
We carry P3cars , its right here: OB2 connection, All in One unit. Displays lots of readings of common readouts missing for that Gen 2 Models. ** Reads CEL code and then clears codes after fix, which is handy to have right there on the dash. We listed the ECS install PDF and the Tech instructions right in the documentation. So you can see everything.

If you want plug n' play, then an OBD2 gauge is the way to go. If you want it to match the Mini interior, then the Craven nGauge is it.

The reason I'm attracted to the P3Cars integrated gauge is the great design. P3Cars gives you everything. You get 11 different features available in one unobtrusive gauge. With other options available in MINI gauges, you have to make a choice, up to two if you are lucky enough to not have a convertible. The design is very thoughtful to the MINI interior and doesn't compete with or interfere with already great design. While I love the look of the Marshall instruments, I'm digesting the though of a P3Cars integrated gauge as my next mod purchase.

Marshall engine (coolant) temp and oil pressure guages with Craven mounts plus Ultraguage OBDII. Love it all. Craven is great, didn't have nGuages when I installed. Would cover engine temp but not oil pressure.
