Well, I have a Clubman, so I can run a spare (on the rear).. and can carry a spare (and I do) since it fits in the boot.

I swapped out for a set of winter tires at about 7,000 miles... my winter wheels/wires are really just good quality all seasons... with beater stock wheels...

The ride change was very noticeable... much smoother and quieter. I also felt as if I had better grip in the cold.. running the same pressure (38) as the run flats.. Good Year Eagle ST Sports.

About 800 miles the first time we got runflats. The next 4 MINIs were driven directly to the tire shop to get them changed.

I'm almost at 24K and still on my original run flats, they don't bother me one bit but when they get worn out I will switch to non flats just because of the cost.

Still using the BF Goodrich run flats that came with my car, currently driven about 7k on them and they are starting to get near the tread bars. Probably swap them out soon

Bumped the size up on all of them.

I didn't mind them nor did I think there was that much difference in the ride when I switched to the non run flat.
