My 2010 MCs has a lifetime average of 31.4 mpg, and I drive it like a complete idiot...

If no one has driven a small car on ice and show the only word of caution I'd throw out there would be very cautious in your use of the steering wheel. The short wheel base can cause an 'over reaction' if not used carefully.

as for the turbo/supercharger debocile. turbo is more efficient hands down, using exhaust gases to power it. while the supercharger needs power of the engine to spin the blower, a parasitic load.

that being said, the noise of the supercharger is intoxicating with a aftermarket intake. the most i have gotton for MPG is 35 and that was traveling at 60-65 mph on a fairly flat road, normally i get 30-31 highway, and about 26-29 going to and from work, its only a 7 miles commute. i do belive the turbos can get 35 easier, motors are a bit more complicated since they are french. the reliablity of the SCis preety good. they do fail tho but not past easilly 100k+, they just need to be rebuilt, but if gas mileage is a must, the r56 justa is really good, the GF has one, almost always sees 40+

Have had my 07 Mini Cooper for just a few weeks now and I must say that it handles the snow like a beast. Roads were unplowed this morning, had about a three inch snow last night, and it handled it amazingly. Very suprised. Went better than my Nissan xterra ever did.

Last winter, a friend and I took my Blizzak-equipped 2013 R56 up into the Poconos for a long-planned ski trip with winter storm Nemo on our heels. The next morning, the car was covered with over a foot of powdery snow. No roads were plowed, and we had to drive up a hill that - the winter before - our rented SUV (all-seasoned, probably) couldn't go up. And the MiNi just scrambled up that hill despite the fact it didn't even have chassis clearance. We were among the first ones at the mountain - best skiing I've ever enjoyed in the Poconos. Everyone else started hitting the slopes around mid-day, no doubt digging out and waiting for the snow plows to clear the roads. Thanks to the MiNi, we pretty much had that mountain to ourselves on the best ski day of the year.

The MiNi is more than just capable in the snow (with the right tires). It's a blast to drive - a scrappy little snowmobile. And don't forget the rubber floor mats (WELL worth it).

Sounds like I will put snow tires on stock wheels and get a performance set on my BBS RS wheels.
Question! I still have a set of 16x7 Konig Tuner wheels left over from my CRX days.
Will the wheels from the CRX fit the Mini? I know bolt pattern is same, but bore? If they fit that might help save $.

They will fit. The center bore on a MINI wheel is 56.1 & so is a CRX.

Sweet, I assume it'll be cheaper to have my current wheels refinished and powder-coated and re-rubbered than buying new rims.
Also, are all "new" Mini Coopers same bolt pattern?
