False K-band radar signals from Audi's

Folks,

I don't know if you guys have noticed this, but I've been picking up and increasing number of K-band faults when passing late model Audi's. Even my latest V1 is freaked out by them.

Is it adoptive cruise control?
Lane departure warning?

Any Audi owners here who also own radar detectors and found away to filter out K-band pollution?

I feel your pain. I thought it was my radar picking up their radar. Didn't think about the hi-tech gadgetry.

I've never noticed it with my V1. I do get the constant laser alerts nowadays with the adaptive CC. Drives me bonkers.

I got falses from a lot of new luxury cars. Luckily for me no police run K-band so I shut off X and K, just kept Ka and Laser. If there are police around you that still shoot K I'm pretty sure your out of luck...

I have an Audi with lane departure, adaptive CC,lane departure and blind spot warning etc.., and used to have an escort 8500 I didn't get any K's from it I'm getting the Max in a few weeks so I'll see how that goes.
I'm not sure if Audi uses a different blind spot radar than other cars since at least here in NYC I see other cars with their BSpot lit almost non stop when driving behind them mine only comes on when there is an actual car so I'm not sure what system they use that could trigger a false alert but this is the fifth time Thani see people mention it.

I run a V1. Audis and Infinities drive me NUTS!! Audis light up the V1 with up to 5 bogey counts. The damn infinities on the other hand set off the laser alarm. I wish Valentine would come up with an upgrade filter for the Audis......

I notice that I get a lot of k alarms lately and don't see cops, I guess that is what it is.

ill be driving and k band or similar will go apesht for quite some time, until someone pulls away finally... i have yet to determine which cars it actually is. seems almost random; sometimes it seems like some peoples tail lights set it off! i also get false laser warnings all the time, where i think ive only been lasered by a cop like once?! so yes, were are these false laser signals coming from?!

it has to be some of these new cars and their dang fancy sensors.... either that or some people are cruising around with radar jammers, which i doubt.

V1's are always more prone to falses because they are more sensitive. It's a trade-off but I'll always choose a occasional false to get more range.

Tail light really do cause a ton of Laser falses. Where I have my V1 in my truck is exactly level with the 3rd brake light of GMC/Chevy SUV's. It got to the point that when I was behind one I knew I was going to get a false when they hit the brakes. I have since shut off laser. I see no point to using it as once it's going off they already have your speed. Laser doesn't spread like radar...

My V1 is setup with Laser, K, and X all shut off. "POP" mode is also off. I never get any falses now. However it is well known that there are no police using K or X in my area, and laser is sort of useless anyway as I mentioned. So I feel fine running with those 3 off...

The false signals are from Audi's Blind Spot Warning system. My buddy's radar detector always goes off whenever he drives behind my Q5 lol

Is he using a V1 or Escort? Last week I used the Escort Max on a trip from NY to North west MA on K,Ka and Laser and I didn't get these false k's with other Audis or mine

ive only been "lasered" once, and oddly enough, it the signal that the cobra sent was "LASER", and not any of the other laser signals described in its manual! im half tempted to just turn laser off. as another already said, once youve been tagged, thats about it. there are "techniques" you can use to confuse, slow the laser signals (making the cop have to shoot you more than once), but unless you can really jam the brakes and slow in a split second, it is nearly pointless.

now, i have noticed that a lot of local PD still use old school K band. that seems to vary depending on what city your in, and how "new" the cop car is. lots of these guys still have the old stuff because it works, and maybe the dept doesnt have the funds to upgrade to newer radar systems. most of my speeding tix are from cops driving around and tagging me anyway, usually driving Towards me :P so im willing to put up with false signals for that, as i have been able to avoid being tagged a couple of times now.

anyone else noticed that some of the state troopers radar signals are very weak, (i get 1 "bar") until im right up on them, then it maybe goes to 2 bars? yet i know their radar is blasting. makes me wonder if its in some sort of standby mode that kicks up if your going over a certain speed...

Hey guys, I have a Blinder M20 X-Treme Laser Jammer that I purchased for my Porsche that is new in the box that I never got around to installing.

I paid $350 for it, if anyone is interested I'm thinking a $150 bucks OBO.

do those things really work? i mean, i can go buy 900nm leds and install them, which is what i believe these things usually are right...

besides, i have taken other steps against laser attacks anyway (few they are), which is tinting my headlights and tail lights, and wet sanding the shiny-ness off most of my license plate (dont tell anyone, lol), which are the 2 common spots for police to "shoot" your car, since headlights have big reflective lenses in them, and the LP is a bigass reflector too.

All in know is my buddies running the same model when I purchased it claimed they worked when popped by lasers. Laser jamming is not a subject I know much about other than the basic concept.

I figured anyone into detectors with knowledge of jammers may have an interest because it is just taking up closet space on my end.

Escort 8500 CI

I run the Escort 8500 CI installed (Hidden) detector.

I am not immune either. I get false K band from School Buses and Public Transit Busses. And from my Amateur Radio installed.

I love the install and don't have to worry about it being too conspicuous or stolen. Don't mind the false alerts and I can easily turn it off in the case of talking on the radio.

If I had to make a choice glad I have it over not having it in the car. I just like to know I am being watched. I don't necessarily speed but driving the S Coupe I am sure the target of Police. Who wouldn't be drive something that sporty?

I love having POP and the other bands. But I don't drive like like a bat out of hell either. So it is not about making time on the road or whatever. But if the Police follow me they need to smile cause the front or rear Dash Cam got them on Candid Camera
