Damage Costs

I have a 2005 Red Mini Cooper, I got into a bit of and accident and my bumber was basically ripped off along with the front left wheel cover being completely smashed. Rough estimate?
Thanks

Around $600 if you don't get the hood fixed? i can't see if it's actually damaged or not.

With hood and front bumper, you're looking at a little above $1000. Paint costs a lot!

Why not just go to a auto repair center and ask them? It's free.

Maybe you could source used parts locally from a car that was rear-ended.

If i had to to that for my own car, i would go get a front bumper locally from a junkyard and pay a shop like Maaco to paint it and blend it with the car.

Should be less than $500.

My thought....
Bumper, installed and painted ALONE is almost $1000 at most places...
Then the extra work on the side... Maybe hoodwork....adds up FAST..get a few "free" estimates...you will be amazed how $$$ it is.
Bolting on a salvaged bumper with some zip-ties and bailing wire ...but the repair will not look right or last...the parts will vibrate and crack.
It appears the hood has some dammage.... That is THE $$$ part. Good luck.

Someone hit my Clubman on the same spot with a lot less damage and it was over $3,000 to repair. The shop took most of the front end off to look for damage and painted the entire front end so it would match. I would guess $3,000 - $4,000 at a MINI dealership..

Someone backed into my door, dented it and broke the mirror... $3k after painting all three panels to blend it properly.

With most cars just a new bumper cover, respray, and labor is around $1200-$1400. Looks to me like there's probably a few other bits needing attention, so I'd guess $2K. If the hood or wings have damage, you're well into $3K+.

I know this sound crazy, but if the repair gets at all involved, it is quite possible this car is totaled since it's probably only worth $6K or so and insurance will typically total a car at 75% or so of this.

OTOH, if you want, you could probably fix it up on the cheap for a few hundred bucks and it would still drive fine and look good from 25'.

silly question ...

what's your insurance status?????

The first call I'd have (HAD) in this situation would be to call the insurance company

Not worth stressing about. Let your insurance handle it. Have it done right.

With 30+ years in the industry, I'd suggest turning this into the insurance company. That' snot a very happy MINI at all. The bonnet looks like it is probably salvageable. Let me know and I'll be glad to work up an estimate as close as I can get from the pics. I don't think you'll be up to the 3 grand figure, butit doesn't look like it'll be cheap.
