most of the big gains are coming from larger injectors... since the stock injectors, (not the JCW) start running out of steam and going into 100% duty. to get more power you need more air and fuel and a tune will allow that to happen.

i just ordered the holiday price from bytetronic.... i thought it was a wicked good deal for remote tuning. 925 includes tune, software, upload, afr kit, 550cc injectors, and their time to work with me... injectors alone are 325$, afr kit is about 160$ from what i could find. so im paying $440 for a custom tune for my car, and their uploading device.... seems preety cheap to me

I am going to have to quote myself, as I have noticed that some people on this forum can not read an ENTIRE post and comprehend what is being said, then they just jump to a conclusion and make a post.

Well when you start out with 150WHP on the average lightly modified R53, that means you got a 10% gain! That is not bad for say $600 dollars.

Are the words STOCK in there?

All I'm saying is that a tune is not going to get you 15hp "on average"....but a tune and other mods might.

Who would spend 600$ on a tune and NOTHING else, ask yourself that!

I do not know ANYONE that has done mods to a 1st gen and did not do at least a Pulley, If you think you can not get 10% or better out of a pulley and a tune, you are DEAD WRONG

I know a lot of people here(Michigan) that get more than 10% power gain on just a pulley and a tune. Gotta love those R53 modded power gains!

I don't think you are understanding what I'm saying. When u add a pulley....lets say it gives you 10hp. So when you get your car tunned later, it gained another 5hp. So yes, your motor now has 15 extra hp over what it was stock. The tune didn't net you all of that 15hp....the mods did most of it, the tune did the rest.

By the way, who's doing tunes for R53's that aren't just canned" tunes?
