Cost to paint new aero kit?
Cost to paint new aero kit?
I'm looking into getting a new aero front bumper (and maybe more) for my R53 Dark Silver Metallic, and I see that it will come primed not painted.
I'm getting price estimates all over the place when I'm calling around. What's an actual reasonable price for a quality painted bumper?
Or is there some to to get a pre-painted aero straight from the factory?
(Bonus good karma for you if you can recommend a shop in the San Francisco Bay Area
)

The thing is...I don't mind paying for quality work but I was worried that when I picked up the pieces that it would be a crappy job, turned out good though.
Just curious what are the price quotes your getting?

Shipping a painted plastic part...ouch!!
Be happy with the gray one...and know it can have scratches from shipping fixed, and even have the paint "adjusted" to match your years old faded paint better....
Body shops varry do much.....heck...even the temp and humidity in the spay booth that day will change the finish a bit...
Best bet...find a shop that does lots of custom work IMO...stay away from the collision repair shops...they are like the fast food shops of the industry...doing discount work for insurance company's at big discounts....so their "regular" shop rate can often be skewed.....

The shop I used originally said $300 for just the rear bumper, then I brought in the sides also and he quoted $1000, I was like ouch, and talked him down to $600. Now I'm thinking of buying the front too and I'm hoping for $300.
