Armrest installation

I want to purchase an armrest for my R60. I read the installation instructions online and it doesn't seem that difficult but my dealer told me they have to remove the seats to install it. Not sure if I believe them. Has anyone done it?
Thanks

I added the front center armrest to my R60 a couple of weeks ago. The seats do NOT have to come out! It was a pretty simple project, took maybe an hour.

It was pretty easy. It took about 45 mins. We followed the instructions from Sewell parts where we had bought the armrest. They were good but they left out two keys instructions. 1. You need to remove the little clips from the old mounting piece and use them on the new mounting piece. 2. My rail end piece had to be trimmed inside to accommodate the armrest side clip piece which sticks out farther at the end of the rails. Not difficult but you have to figure it out on your own to do this.

Took me about an hour too...not difficult.

I actually had the Mini Mania video playing as I did the installation. Seats do not need to be removed.
