I prefer not having the sun roof. However, that may be because a huge expanse of glass in the middle of my cool champagne roof would ruin it. On my hardtop I have a black roof with a sunroof and it looks good.

But speaking of roof color, get the Bond Street package so you can get cool champagne. It's stunning in person. It shouldn't bring the price up much, since it includes the expensive lounge leather seats, which are amazing, btw. But if you don't want a black car, it probably isn't the best package for you.

I just know I love the way the Bond Street looks, and I've never seen one on the road, besides mine. So if you like unique, it's a good choice.

I'll stop gushing about my own car now... Lol

I'd reconsider/resaerch the alarm. MINIs are hard to steal without the key and the alarm is only good as a smash and grab deterent, but if you hide or take everything of value when you park, you are good.

I'd reconsider comfort acccess. I was thinking about the comfort access and was talked out of it by my sales guy. Even with the comfort access, you have to press a very small button on the door handle to unlock the car. Its not like other systems where the doors automatically unlock when you touch the door handle....

Thanks for the input! The alarm and comfort access come along for the ride with the City pack. I probably wouldn't have selected them on my own otherwise. I'll have to run some numbers to see about getting the rest of the items in the city pack separately to see if it saves or costs more.

Several comments from previous postings

-Bond Street: Is really gorgeous in person. Inside and out! But don't think it's offered in a "S" model. If it is, I'd go for it!

- Sunroof: Personally I really like it on my daughter's car. Especially with both panels venting (but only front one retracts). Makes the interior look bigger.

- Alarm: I've got it on my JCW Convertible. It's gone off 4 times...each time triggered by me! With top down, tossing anything into the car sets it off, so can't imagine it being in a parking structure and getting a bounce or... Not recommended in my opinion.

- Comfort Access: Mixed bag, but mostly good. Likes - No need for key at all (yes, you do have to push a button on outside, but easily done). Great for a "fast get away" when you have other things in your hand. Trunk unlocking is really great with groceries in hand...just hit the regular latch and it unlocks. Dislikes - Maybe it's me, but from the button on the drivers side there's no way to unlock the passenger door. I may be able to change that within the settings, but it's a pain right now. Also, door handle button really has to be PUSHED at time to trigger!

Just my two cents!
You've have a blast no matter which way you go!

Woohoo, I placed the order and went with the previous specs plus couple of additions. I was close to changing from the automatic to manual and from lounge seats to Recarros but decided to leave things as they are. With the auto my wife can drive the car if need be especially on longer treks and the Recarros didn't really do it for me over the lounge seats. With the order placed I am now officially in the 2014 wait club.

One thing I wasn't aware of is when you get the Mini Connected package and center armrest it brings with it the iPhone cradle for the armrest isn't included. Seems kind of weird to me.

OH I have to disagree. Once I got comfort access, I wondered how I ever lived w/o it...never having to do anything with a key or fob except just ensure it's in your pocket....

correct, it is a setting. All my doors open when I hit the button on the driver's door.
