2008 Convertible won't start

Looking for suggestions......
2008 Convertible Cooper S(25k miles) won't start. No turn over sound, just lights. Battery is new and test good. Grounds look good. Tried multiple keys. The only noise is a single click after a few seconds of turning the key. Sounds to me that the click comes from the DSC control unit under the hood.

The odd part is the car will start at random. You can turn the key 50 times and nothing. Try again some other time and it will start right up like nothing is wrong. Then it drives perfect with no fault lights. But turn it off, and it won't start again until some random time.

What's going on here?
