dead amp on a H/k upgrade

hello and thank you in advance for your help. i have a 2003 mini cooper with the H/k upgrade and there is no music being played through speakers so i am just going to assume that it is the amp that is dead. (i hear there a problem in the H/K upgrades). i really don't want to buy the same amp because of the issues they so commonly have so i was going to do an upgraded amp (MTX thunder 75.4)
a four channel amp 400watt. and upgrade the cd player as well i haven't picked one out yet though. my questions are do i need the two tweeter speakers next to the door handle or can i just leave them as is? will i be able to use the h/k speakers with that amp and cd player? and if so where can i find a wire harness that works with H/K wiring clip and an aftermarket stereo? will i even be able use the speaker wire that in there with this amp (really avoiding having to re wire other then what is needed)

summery
