Change to the Configurator

As we just ordered (another) MINI I've been looking at MINIUSA's configurator a bit recently. There's been a change recently and the price it shows no longer includes the destination charge.

I noticed something was different last night configuring our new one. The price shown was about $500 less than I was expecting, but I couldn't work out where the difference was.

Once we got to the dealer, our MA was in a conference with one of their managers. It seems they'd just noticed the change, but not before basing a weeks worth of business on the price the configurator was coming up with, expecting it to include the destination charge.

MINIUSA decided to remove the $700 destination and handling fee that was normally included into the MSRP price on their online configurator. This is to match other car sites that also do not include the d&h fee in their MSRP.

Their Destination fee has also raised from $700 to $795 so there is a $95 increase.

How do I know? I made the changes.

How does this MSRP change affect MINIs that were already ordered based on the previous pricing? Also if you're the one making changes to the configuration, how come you can't order an R56 S in White Silver with a cloth interior, but you can with every other colour? Seems very odd to be intentional...

I don't think it should effect orders that are already ordered since you and the dealership agreed to a set price before it's ordered. This is also a change that just rolled out last week.

As to R56 S in White Silver with Cloth: Checkered Upholstery... that's a glitch. Should be a fix in the 2014 update on config.

Do you mean the destination charge, not the MSRP?

Right, destination charge. My mistake.
