Sign me up for the A1.

 

A1 isn't bad for a winter AWD commuter car, but it's too heavy.
At 1420 kg == 3,131 lbs it is approaching the 1-series territory (3,350 lbs). And we all know what will happen if you start comparing A1 to 135is.

A1 is not available in the US, regardless.
