Window tinting...
I have absolutely no idea if it will cause problems so do not take my post as any authoritative opinion. But the shop that tinted my windows refused to do the sunroof. I went to a second shop and was shot down again. Something about the type of glass MINI uses.
Wow...
Thank you for keeping me posted...
I guess I might skip the tinting of sunroof...maybe just get the zippyshade
thing like some poster suggested...(actually this was the recommendation
of dealer personel as well...but I thought tinting was more convenient...)
As for the other tinting...one prospect shop guy who was pretty opinionated
told us that tint made with ceramic is only internet hype and that he won't
touch that stuff with a 10ft pole himself for any of his cars...
...
So...I might have to keep looking for more shops...
But thank you for your personel experiences with different kinds of tint.
It is very helpful!

Based on the research I've been doing it doesn't seem like there's a consensus best brand or type of film really. When I first started looking I would have said 3M ceramic, but now the quality of the installer seems more important than the quality of the film.
Kingfisher - seconded. Good installer with lifetime warranty sounds ideal
Mdr - I have the zippyshades. They work great. Anything removable is more annoying than applied surfacing, but then again: removable.
