Question Check Engine Light R53
Question Check Engine Light R53
Question?
My check engine light comes on and then after shutting off the vehicle and starting it around the 3rd or 4th time the light goes off.
Ill drive the car for a while and then it comes back on again and same thing over and over light comes on once a week maybe twice. Its really weird does anyone know what this could possibly be?
*NOTE plugs, wires and coil pack were all replaced about 5,000 miles before the check engine light came on.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have an 06 MCS JCW

I would double check all the plugs, wires and coil again. Make sure everything is on and tight with all connections. Also without codes from the light it will be hard to help you pin point it IMO. Read the codes and we might be able to help better.
Till you pull a code......not much anybody can do!!
When a fault is first recorded, the light goes on...if the fault is not active, the light usually turns out after a few starts. Then the light comes back on when the fault re-happens!!

not a bad idea to start with what has been freshly done to the vehicle however, i feel that your recent "tune up" should not be the main concern seeing as how you had it done 5k miles ago... and now the light comes on.. possibly start with the easiest accessable parts to you. anything having to do with vacuum, or maybe an emission. we see alot of slight emission leaks. seeing as how your light comes on then off after being driven or multiple key cycles it could just be something as minor as that. please get a code up and that in itself can give you a point blank answer. goodluck!
