Light feature or problem on R53

I just accidently discover that if I put the signal flasher on my car after I turn OFF the key, the parking lights (front and rear) goes ON on the side I put the flasher and stay on even when I lock the car.
Is this normal ???

Thanks !
Mike
P.S. I own a canadian R53

I think it's normal. My R56 does it. It's some sort of feature for parking on streets. Like you can flip on the side that's on the street. I think it's a euro thing.

Yep, calforhelp is right. They are used when parking on a roadside to alert other drivers. I've done it several times at parties, and people have notified me that I have a light on- guess they get noticed!

This totally normal. Also you can activate your "Follow Me Home" lights by flicking the highbeam flash stalk after the car is shut off. Then they will stay on illuminating your way for 40 seconds.
