going to dealer - how to know what my trade is worth

taking my 2008 clubman s into dealerships
it has 65,000 miles
this car has everything new it was $34,900
it runs great (this is same car that my local mechanic says to trade in because i will need a valve job)
i have two sets of tires (blizzak which i bought with new rims) and my flat runs
I can't take both sets into the dealership the closest being 55+ miles away
apparently i am not a good negotiator
Any tips?
besides prayer i would appreciate any ideas
thank you

For a Trade In Value KBB is a good place to start, Cars.com will show you what local sellers as well as dealers are asking for cars optioned like yours. You're over on "NAM"; and you also have to consider the mechanic's that need worked on...deduct those things and I'm thinking don't expect more than
$10,000 to $13,000, remember these figures will also depend on what you are wanting to get into...it's not an easy science.

Good Luck!!

I'm trying to remember the last time a dealer trade in offer differed from the KBB number by more than a hundred dollars ....

and my first trade experience was 1978 when you had to find a BOOK to check . . . (library)

Save yourself pain ... is there a CarMax near you? They will buy at KBB if the car is close to OK. 1 hour job ..... What's your time worth?
