Oops...well damn tread

So I've done this a few times, and figured others might have done similar. At lowes and by 4ft x 4ft sheet of peg board thinking it'll fit diagonal...discovering I was wrong and had to call for backup. Also, in my old mini with a sunroof, I was moving and packed my car a little too full. Last thing to go in being a large area rug. Thought it'd fit in the front seat. Way wrong. Loaded it in the seat and hung it out of the sunroof. Got some great looks!!

Anyone else get something they overestimated just a little?

Ran my mom out to doctors appointment, she is doing incredibly well (post stroke we were very lucky, as it only effected her vision on right side) and it is time for her to become active again doctor suggested daily walks but do to vision problems we were given prescription for a walker. We drove straight to the surgical supply store and she was given one heck of a contraption this has built in seat for resting fold out shelf for her pocketbook all the bells and whistles.

Unfortunately all of my work equipment was in trunk.

Gave mom my coat turned up the heated seats (32 degrees)dropped the top and set it on the shelf behind the seats it looked hysterical the hand brakes for the walker popped up just over the roll bars for the seats.

Needless to say people were staring at us the whole trip home, we just turned up the radio and kept going.

Went with my buddy the other day who wanted to buy a coffee table. He has a VW Rabbit which still wouldn't have had the room to compensate. Luckily, I have a roof rack and keep the straps in the car at all times.

Not yet in the MINI, but I've hauled some very large things in very small cars before.

There's a pic of my old CRX with about four dozen helium balloons being held through the sunroof by my wife. We drove home at 10 MPH that day...

I ordered some tires online and had them shipped to my house while I shopped around for a good place to mount and balance them for a decent price. I've seen pictures of Minis going to the track with 4 tires stacked 2-by-2 on their sides in the back and I planned on doing the same. When I went to get them put on at the shop however, they wouldn't fit on their sides. I ended up loading the tires 4 across on their treads and used my emergency roadside kit as a chock to make sure they didn't roll around. Rear visibility was limited, but I've driven in similar situations and I got there in one piece.

I drove almost 400 miles to get 4-16's night before last. They fit flat 3 down and one on top with well worn rf's. was worried a bit but worked out great.

bought a "soulsta" couch from ikea a few months back, because on paper the box's measurements said it'd fit fine. a little wiggling and it made it in, sticking out by about 4-5 inches. bungee'd the door down most of the way, and drove the 20 miles home just fine. i have pics i'll post when i can get to them.

I hauled a 3.5' wide heater on a moped once. It was strapped to the basket. That was quite the sight. It worked, though...

I guess the 1st gens really are quite a bit smaller than the 2nd gen hatches. I had four 205/45/17s and there was no way I could have gotten two side by side stacks in the back.
