Peep,
Westwood is way up in North Jersey. Maybe some NAM poster from Central Jersey will recommend a good "Central Jersey" detailer. Or do a google search for "Auto Detailing Central Jersey" and see who is local. You could always stop by and see their work, comparing a couple local detailers in quality and price.

What about the mini dealer? Can they do good detailing?

Up in Norwood, you can find Phil of Detailers Domain. His work is amazing and you can see a lot of examples in the detailing section of the forum.

Unfortunately, I don't know of any in the Trenton area though.

i hand wash during the summer and no-touch automatic wash during the winter. i can't see any potential problem with no-touch car washes.

i also wax once per year. finish is still looking great, and i'm coming up on my third year.

Stupid question. What is a no touch wash? It that what it's called?

And do you wax yourself? And if so what wax do you use?

no touch means high pressure soap and water plus spot free rinse (no brushes.)

i do wax the car myself. the wax i use is Meguiar's gold class carnuba plus. it does a pretty good job.

important waxing notes : i try to do it when it's dry with temps in the upper 70s / low 80s (Fahrenheit.) too much dampness makes it hard to buff, and too much heat does, as well.

In Massachusetts ... We have a chain called Ernie's... touch less, I always get the super wash... wheel bright, rain ex, under carriage wash... always take the antenna off... very easy. Always comes out great. The bonus... take Jeeves out on the highway to speed dry him!
