clubman not shifting into 2nd gear

hi
I just purchased a used 2008 mini clubman (not s). The car is a manual 6 speed. No problems with car until tonight. I was driving with no problem until i noticed car did not shift into 2nd. When shifting i can successfully shift into all gears but when shifting into 2nd, it does not catch. There is no grinding between gears. I find i now have to shift from 1st to 3rd by revving high in 1st. Does anyone have this problem? I hope its nothing too expensive and a minor fix. Please help....thank you

Did you ever get any answers? I have a similar issue... I can still get it to go into second but there are times, especially when turning, where it doesn't catch.

Synchros going bad might cause this.

Possible worn shift linkage or bad motor mount.
