How does your MINI Club do Membership Dues?

Hi MINI friends! I just wanted to gather some information on other MINI clubs out there.

1. How much are your yearly club dues? (Do you think its too much/too little?)

2. Are membership dues due at the same time of the year for all members (everyone pays in January)? Or are they due on the anniversary of your join date (I might pay in March, but you pay in July)? (Or which way would you prefer?)

3. Please feel free to offer any other information about your club... if they use 3rd party websites (like Meetup or software like ClubExpress). Do they accept payments online, if so how?

Just gathering some research. Thanks in advance for anyone who answers!

Cost Individual memberships are $26 and couples memberships are $35, if you sign up between January and June. If you sign up between July and December the cost for an individual Membership is $16.00and $21.00 for a couples membership. Please remember all memberships are based on the calendar year and will expire at the end of December of the year you signed up.

Mid-Ohio Motoring does not have dues, bylaws, officers, committees or another type of organizational nonsense. We are a group of friends that enjoy MINIS. Our environment totally eliminates in-fighting, politics and egos. It may not be for everyone, but it has worked great for us for almost 10 years.

CHKMINI speaks well for our club, Wichita Area MINI Owners. We like to get together for a monthly meet and eat, have a good time visiting and thinking of things that can be done with a MINI Cooper and then doing those things so long as they don't get us in trouble. We even have a small handful of Minis in the club.

PSMINI in Washington State's Puget Sound area charges $25 yearly dues. These dues go to support our website and help defray the costs of club events. Dues are due on the anniversary of your join date. I'm not in any official capacity with the club, but I imagine this system makes record keeping easier.

It's free to join the website and forums and everybody in a MINI is welcome to our club events. Paying actual club dues is encouraged but not required. I feel it's a good value. I do organize a run each year where the club insurance policy is utilized due to the contract we have to sign, so I might be biased about the value of membership.

A big +1. This formula has worked great for Eastern Iowa MINIs too. We have enough "regular" enthusiasts who are willing to plan/host our events that we don't need to impose group expectations on those who just want to come out and enjoy the company. It eliminates forced participation, unwanted burdens, and keeps everyone happy. Any financial outlay (e.g., flowers for someone in the hospital) always gets covered by a willing member, and we just pass the hat at the next event -- again, with no expectations, but our folks always react with generosity. Regardless of turnout, we always have fun together.
